"I--I--," Elyse stutter and stammered, putting the chocolate down, "I-- I mean... I mean it j-just caught me off g-guard."
"We agreed to honesty." He sighed as he handed her a towel. "I can finish here while you change."
Elyse nodded and looked down, her cheeks still flushing, "w-well, if we're b-b-b-being honest. I would not be opposed."
"The question is do we act on it?"
Elyse turned to face him properly, gazing up into his eyes. She remained silent, unsure in how to answer. Of course she wanted to act on it, but was it too much, too soon? They were friends and Elyse was still six months into grieving a horrific break up. Her eyes dropped to his lips and then back to his eyes.
"You're not making this easy." He studied her. "I just want to kiss you more."
Her cheeks flushed a little more, as if even remotely possible, "Tholos, I--" Elyse just kept stuttering 'I', her mouth just not engaging properly.
Tholos cursed. "Can I kiss you Miss Elyse?"
Elyse just went silent and blushed, nodding. The chocolate around her face was furthest from her mind, but honestly, to be seen and wanted whilst in a domestic setting without a catch-- she couldn't help but want that.
Tholos bent down and gently kissed her a featherlight kiss that would let her pull away should she want to.
Elyse didn't pull away. In fact, she stepped closer to him, to encourage him. Her eyes flicked from his lips to his eyes as if questioning if he'd kiss her again. Her heart pounded as she reached out and put a hand gently on his arm, encouraging him gently to hold her. It was light enough for him to pull away, "how about you try properly."
He smiled. "Well okay then." He did kiss her this time and the moment he did he felt as if his sense were swimming. He felt as if he was floating on air.
Elyse just seemed to relax in his arms, her hands going to his chest, kissing him back sweetly but it didn't stay sweet for long. Something in both of them snapped and suddenly the night became rather heated.
Tholos blinked. He was in an unfamiliar room and it took a moment for the night before to rush to his mind. He looked over to find Elyse sleeping next to him. A sudden panic seized him.
Elyse stirred a little at the feeling of the bedsheets moving slightly. The sheet slipped from her shoulder and she shivered, but ultimately stayed in the place somewhere between consciousness and asleep, groaning in protest at the concept of being woken.
"G..good morning." He said.
Elyse opened her eyes at the voice and saw Tholos. At first, still half asleep she smiled, "mmm, good morning, handsome Tholly." But then it hit her and her eyes flung open and she pulled the bedsheets close to the cheat covering her modest, even though he'd seen everything the night before, inclusive of her cherry blossom tattoo that followed the curves of her body like vines from her right shoulder down to her left ankle. "Oh my gawd, good morning, Tholos."
Tholos flushed at the pet name and then sat up. "Um...okay so that happened we um...." He ran his fingers through his hair hitting his antenna and wincing. "Right I should um...go." What had he done? He swore to himself he would not jump into bed with anyone and here he was.
Elyse blushed. She couldn't believe she'd rushed this either but it did feel nice to be wanted and seen for a change. But Tholos' reaction in that moment made her feel a little more used that it was probably intended and her hurt was pretty clear across her face, though GH she tried to hide it, "I-- ok, whatever you feel is right, I guess. Let's umm... Let's not let it ruin our friendship, or have we just ruined it inadvertently?"
"Of course not. I just..." He sighed. "I really wanted to be with you and I think that we both needed this but are we ready for this?"
"It's fine," Elyse ran her fingers through he hair. But it wasn't fine. Whilst he was right, she wasn't ready to just jump in to things, it still hurt that he was keen to just run out of bed the next morning.
He paused a moment as he dressed. "I'm sorry Elyse. It kills me to leave but...I think we should try and just focus on the friendship."
"No, no," she stood up, grabbing an oversized top just to cover her for now. Her gaze dropped to the floor, "no, I agree with you. I just--" she shrugged, "I'm not used to being run out on first thing. Not had that done to me since early academy." She ran her fingers through her hair, "adds an element to what happened that hurts. Make sense?"
He sighed. "I don't want to run out on you I just...I don't want you to be disappointed in me."
"Disappointed in you?" Elyse asked confused, "Tholos, it takes two. I'm not jumping into anything. We just... Had a moment of weakness... But I don't regret it. Your reaction though... Makes me think that you regret it."
He sighed. "I don't." He sat down on the bed beside her. "I really don't I just don't want to loose a friendship."
Elyse nodded, "alright." She looked over at him, thinking, "I don't want to lose it either. For the record though-- this was your fault. You said about wanting to kiss me."
He rubbed a hand down his face. "Yeah. It is my fault. I'm sorry."
Elyse looked at the floor, silent for a moment, "I guess we just need... I don't know. Space? Or perhaps just some rules? Like don't tell me you want to kiss me unless things change."
He gave a nod. "That works."
