The USS Arcadia is dispatched from Starbase 1 after Starfleet receives a fragmented distress call from an Antares-type Federation transport, the Bright Horizon. The transport vessel is carrying civilian families and thirty-seven children relocating to a Federation colony. A systems failure has left the transport disabled and adrift in the center of a previously uncharted minefield composed of blackout and blade mines.

Joining the USS Arcadia, is a Klingon D7 Battlecruiser. Together, the two ships conduct a precise rescue, stabilize the transport, and deploy a subspace warning buoy marking the minefield for future disposal. They must uncover the mysteries of the minefield and ensure that The mission ends not with weapons fire, but with fragile cooperation, providing proof that even the remnants of war can be dismantled, one careful choice at a time.

Echoes in the Triangle

Lieutenant Commander Elyse White, USS Arcadia's Chief Communications Officer, detects a peculiar repeating signal emanating from within the Delta Triangle, the infamous region notorious for navigational distortions and a plethora of starship disappearances.

Upon further study and scrutiny, the signal is determined not to be Federation in origin, nor Klingon, nor Romulan. What they can determine with the assistance of Lieutenant Sornax is that the signal carries structured harmonics embedded within chaotic static. It is almost musical, almost intentional, and arguably more unsettling is that it appears tuned to White’s frequency board, as though responding to her calibration adjustments in real time.

Captain Abernathy authorizes a cautious investigation and directs helm to proceed into the Delta Triangle. As the USS Arcadia continues to venture deeper and deeper into the triangle, tacking toward the source of the mysterious signal, Ship's Counselor, Lieutenant Lanna Alexander, is deeply affected, sensing more than what impaired starship sensors and probes can relay.
